MADHVACHARYA (Life and Teachings)
Acharya Madhva, the 13th century saint and philosopher,
incarnated in Parashurama Kshetra (present day
Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka State).
Acharya Madhva propounded in his teachings that there are
two realities in the Universe. The first one is called as
Independent reality that is God Himself and the second is
the dependent reality comprising of the universe, matter and souls.
Acharya Madhva established 8 maThas called ashTamaThas in
Udupi, besides installing Lord Krishna there, and one maTha
outside Udupi, all for the propagation of bhakthi which is the
quintessence of Vedic lore.
